If you are not happy with your weight after having a baby, don't worry. You can drop those pounds quickly if you know what to do. You may think that you don't have time to work out because your baby is at a stage where it needs its mother as often as possible. Don't forget that a newborn baby sleeps most of the time. If you make sure to workout while your baby is napping, you won't have to wait long to see good results. Here are three things that you can do while your baby is sleeping that will keep you energetic and feeling your best.
The Reverse Curl: A woman who has just given birth must often strengthen her abdominals back up, and reverse curls are great for this. In this exercise you need to lie down on the floor, look up at the ceiling and keep your knees bent. Keep your feet on the floor near your hips, keep your arms flat and your neck relaxed and then breathe in and back out as you suck in your abs and lift your hips off of the floor. Lower yourself back to your starting position and then start over. Try to work up to 20 reps if you can handle it. If you can't, slowly work up to being able to do 20. Then work up to fifty.
Not only is this exercise good for your ab muscles and for losing the pouch, it helps you walk tall and with confidence.
Bridge Squeeze: In this exercise, you start out by lying down on the floor on your back while keeping your feet flat on the floor and your knees bent. Draw in your ab muscles while holding a pillow between your knees. Breathe in and then back out as you tighten your bottom muscles and left your hips to make your body form a straight line. After squeezing the pillow for two counts, lower your hips. Do this ten times for three sets.
Air Bike: In this exercise you lay down on the floor on your back and raise one knee so that it meets the opposing elbow (left knee to right elbow) and then lowering back down and doing the same thing with the other limbs (right knee to left elbow). Repeat. This is a great ab strengthener and calorie burner, two things that are important to women who have had babies.
All done! Those are the best ways for any woman to lose weight so that she can get back to her pre-pregnancy weight. Use these tips and you will see just how quickly you can get back to your old size.
